Description

Racing drivers can't look at data mid-race, they need it spoken to them. Real F1 teams solve this with a race engineer on the radio. I built one powered by Gemini. GP is an Al race engineer that watches live F1 25 telemetry and talks to you in real-time using Gemini's Live API. Press a button on your controller, ask about tire strategy or the gap to the car ahead, and GP responds in ~300ms with advice grounded in your actual car data (tire wear, fuel, lap times, competitor positions.) The key technical insight: we inject live telemetry as text context into the Gemini Live session while audio streams bidirectionally. Gemini handles STT + reasoning + TTS in a single WebSocket - replacing a traditional 3-hop pipeline that took ~3 seconds. The result feels like real F1 radio.
