Core trick

README excerpt

# Shrimp Welfare

A 3D roguelike civilization-decision game built in **Godot 4.6**. You guide a
**horde of shrimp** — humanity — across a **fog-of-war** decision board, making
grounded policy choices (AI, climate, biotech, governance, war, space) and
weathering escalating catastrophes. Early choices decide *which* catastrophes
enter your future and *whether you built the tools to survive them*.

> The shrimp are a metaphor. The decisions are about us.

## The core idea

> Early choices do not just change stats. They decide which catastrophes enter
> the future and whether civilization has the tools to survive them.

You can't see the whole board. You see your current node, the next options, and
fog. A tempting early choice helps now and **pollutes the future deck** — three
turns later a catastrophe appears, and you survive only if you prepared.
