Locus

The crisis of our time is human purpose.

Core trick

Every inferred claim cites real moment IDs from the user's archive, so each layer can be traced back to source entries.

Description

The crisis of our time is human purpose. As intelligence commoditizes and the fabric of our day to day shifts from labor to orchestration, the core human questions will return, who am I? What am I meant to do? Locus begins to lay infrastructure for navigating those questions. Locus is grounded inference over a personal world model, shipped to mobile. It reads your personal archive — the moments you've actually lived — and extrapolates, in five grounded layers: who you are (identity), the scale at which you act (a concentric impact range, self → intimate → community → society → species), what the world needs from you at the right radius, where those overlap (a Venn intersection), and concrete ways to live it out — a job, a gig, a company ethos, a philanthropy, a movement. Every layer is grounded in real moment IDs you can tap to see.

# Locus

**Locus is grounded inference over a personal world model, shipped to mobile.**
It reads your personal archive — the moments you've actually lived — and
extrapolates, in five grounded layers: **who you are** (identity), **the scale at
which you act** (a concentric impact range, self → intimate → community → society
→ species), **what the world needs from you** at the right radius, **where those
overlap** (a Venn intersection), and **concrete ways to live it out** — a job, a
gig, a company ethos, a philanthropy, a movement. Every layer is grounded in real
moment IDs you can tap to see.

Locus is **not** a personality analyzer and **not** a wellbeing or mental-health
advisor. It does not score, diagnose, or counsel. It performs evidence-grounded
purpose inference over a corpus of real moments, and shows its grounding.

## Built during Build Day

Everything that carries the demo was built in this session and lives in this
open repository:

- **The Locus app** — `index.html`, `style.css`, `js/` (ES modules): a vanilla
mobile web app (no framework, no build step) with a five-stage flow — archive
ingestion → identity → impact rings → Venn → paths.
- **The synthesis layer** — `prompts/synthesize.md` + the `/api/synthesize`
handler in `serve.py`. The five-layer, archive-driven inference runs **here**,
on **Claude Opus 4.8** (`claude-opus-4-8`), server-side. This is the
demo-carrying logic and it is open-source.
- **The self-verifying harness** — `rubric.md` (source
