Educational content comes in many formats and qualities. We needed to create a pipeline capable of processing documents, videos, transcripts, and notes while maintaining contextual understanding. Another challenge was grounding AI responses in student-provided materials to reduce hallucinations. We solved this using Retrieval-Augmented Generation with semantic search over vector embeddings. Finally, designing adaptive learning required balancing personalization, response quality, and inference cost while maintaining a fast user experience. 📚 What we learned Building DodoPrep taught us that personalized education is far more than generating summaries. Students benefit most when AI understands their goals, tracks their progress, identifies weaknesses, and adapts the learning journey accordingly.
