Description

Elisa is a block-based visual IDE where kids design software by snapping blocks together and AI agents build it. Users compose specs using seven primitives; Goals, Requirements, Minions (Agents), Skills, Rules (Hooks), Portals (MCP/CLI/hardware connectors), and Deployments, then hit Go. A meta-planner decomposes the spec into a task DAG, and Builder, Tester, and Reviewer agents execute it with live visibility into planning, coding, testing, and deployment. A teaching engine surfaces age-appropriate programming concepts as agents work. Built solo in one week, entirely with Claude Code. I architected and spec'd; Claude wrote every line. 39,000 lines of TypeScript/Python/React. 1,500 tests. 76 commits. The primary artifacts of software creation are shifting from source code to specs and tests. Elisa makes that future accessible to the next generation.

Elisa is an educational tool that turns block-based visual programming into real working software. Users drag and drop blocks to describe what they want -- goals, features, constraints, visual style, hardware targets -- and a team of AI agents collaborates to build it. The entire process is visible: you watch agents plan, code, test, and deploy in real time.
