Cutaway
The best way to understand how something works is to play with it: rotate it, slice it open, drag a slider and watch it respond.
Core trick
Each spec fact must cite a quote that code verifies against its source before Argon generates the interactive 3D explainer.
Description
The best way to understand how something works is to play with it: rotate it, slice it open, drag a slider and watch it respond. Explainers like that take experts months of research, 3D modelling and coding. AI can now generate 3D scenes in seconds, but they’re often wrong: made-up numbers, physics that doesn’t hold, motion that doesn’t match the real thing. Teachers, students and hardware documentation teams can’t trust them.
Cutaway builds these explainers from real sources and proves them. A team of Google ADK agents researches the topic: Deep Research and an Antigravity managed agent find papers, patents and videos, downloading and reading them in their own sandbox. Gemini 4 Argon reads everything, writes a spec where every fact cites a quote that code checks against the source, and generates the whole interactive 3D explainer in one long pass.
One pass is only a first draft. Cutaway renders every figure, measures the physics frame by frame, and Argon watches its own output next to the real reference videos. It then fixes what’s wrong and checks again. On our noise-cancelling headphones run, high-severity problems dropped from 11 to 0 in two rounds. Every change waits for a person to approve it before it’s published.
README excerpt
# Cutaway Cutaway researches a concept from real sources (papers, patents, manufacturer docs, articles and long videos), writes a cited spec, and generates a complete interactive 3D explainer in one pass. It then **renders the explainer, measures it, watches it against the reference sources, and fixes it in a loop** until the checks pass. **Who it's for:** - **Students**, who learn a hard concept by playing with it: dragging a slider and watching the physiology, physics or algorithm respond. - **Teachers** preparing a lesson, who need an interactive explainer that is actually correct. - **Hardware documentation teams**, who need an accurate, cited "how it works" page for a product. All of them need more than a plausible-looking animation: they need evidence that the behavior, the numbers and the pictures match the sources. Cutaway publishes that evidence with every explainer. ## Topics | Topic | Field | What the law checks measure on every rendered frame | |---|---|---| | `anc`: how noise-cancelling headphones work | physics / engineering | wave speed (f·λ = 343 m/s), superposition, cancellation at zero delay, residual = 2·\|sin(πfτ)\| with delay, phase flip, particles oscillating without drift | | `heart`: how the heart pumps blood | anatomy and physiology | valves open only when upstream pressure is higher; mitral and aortic valves never open together; constant volume when both are closed; filling and ejection flow the right way; SV = EDV − ESV and CO = HR × SV; cycle
