### Project Description — Company Brain
**Positioning:** Company Brain is an AI-powered **Business Decision & Execution Layer** that helps enterprises make reliable, economically sound decisions and coordinate actions across existing systems.
**The Problem:** Enterprise AI agents can access data and execute individual tasks, but lack the shared business context, operational dependencies, and decision logic needed for reliable cross-functional execution. Critical knowledge remains fragmented across ERP systems, emails, documents, and teams, leading to slow decisions, unnecessary costs, and operational risks.
**Our Solution:** Company Brain operates on top of existing enterprise systems without replacing them. It combines three capabilities:
**Initial Use Case — Manufacturing Supply Chain:** When a supplier delays a critical component, Company Brain identifies affected production and customer orders, quantifies revenue exposure, evaluates recovery options, and coordinates approved responses.
**Business Impact:** Protect customer revenue, reduce avoidable recovery costs, improve delivery reliability, and accelerate decision-making.
README excerpt
# sumo A supply-chain recovery workspace for the synthetic **NorthStar Robotics** case `NS-2026-1042`. The active app reads cloud-published [NorthStar data](data/northstar_happy_path/README.md) and evaluates dated evidence, full-BOM production constraints, supplier options, manager decisions, and review-only action drafts. ## Run locally Use Python 3.12 and Node.js 22.12 or newer: ```sh uv venv --python 3.12 backend/.venv uv pip sync --python backend/.venv/bin/python backend/requirements.txt npm --prefix frontend ci bash scripts/dev.sh ``` Open [the workspace](http://127.0.0.1:5173). The API runs on [localhost:8000](http://127.0.0.1:8000/docs). The default provider is **live Snowflake**. Preserve the existing private `backend/.env`; the backend uses its credentials for SQL and hosted Claude. For a new account, validate and apply the [NorthStar ingestion](docs/northstar-integration.md) before opening the app. There is no local fallback after a cloud failure. Use **Clean run** in the top bar to restart the shared NorthStar workflow from the Risk Inbox. It clears active Claude findings, approval, drafts, execution tracking, and the current Company Brain conversation while keeping the released source evidence. Prior runs remain in audit history. New analysis uses a fresh run scope; restarting the servers or refreshing the page retains the active run. Company Brain runs its native agent review as a background job with visible progress.
