iYap turns voice notes and stream-of-consciousness ideas into clear social content while preserving the speaker’s meaning. Designed with an accessibility focus (hi, I have ADHD and dyslexia!), it helps people who find it easier to speak their ideas than organise them into writing.
Record or upload audio, review an editable transcript and meaning brief, then optionally check factual claims against research. Evidence review highlights findings, limitations and uncertainty, with compact (Author, Year) citations for supported statements.
iYap creates an X post, an X thread and a LinkedIn post. Users can edit, regenerate and approve each draft, while an independent fidelity check flags unsupported claims, contradictions and changes in certainty.
Built with Lovable, Codex and OpenAI, iYap is a personal demo exploring how AI can support expression without taking over the author’s voice.

# iYap A working personal demo: audio or transcript → reviewed meaning → optional evidence review → X, X thread and LinkedIn drafts → user-approved simulated publishing. **No real social posts are sent.** Hosted Lovable demo: https://brief-whisper-studio.lovable.app/ ## Run locally Requires Node.js 22+ and pnpm. Run `pnpm install`, then `pnpm build`, then `pnpm start`. Open http://127.0.0.1:8787. The server reads `OPENAI_API_KEY` from `.env.local` (ignored by Git). Never put this key into browser code or a VITE_ variable. Optional settings are documented in `.env.example`. Research extraction and checking use `gpt-4.1` (`OPENAI_RESEARCH_MODEL`); agentic web search uses `gpt-5.5` with low reasoning (`OPENAI_SEARCH_MODEL`). Drafting remains `gpt-4.1-mini`. It performs a search, a separate primary-source verification pass, and a scope check before showing findings. For development, run `pnpm start` and `pnpm dev` in separate terminals. Vite proxies /api to the local server. For a no-key walkthrough, leave OPENAI_API_KEY unset: the app offers explicitly labelled sample content and manual editing. ## Behaviour - Record with MediaRecorder, upload audio up to 25 MB / five minutes, or paste a transcript. - Review the main point, supporting details, qualifications and uncertainties with verified original excerpts.
