Biz Bot is an embedded agent in the Fernway app. Fernway helps people manage multiple LLCs in any of the 50 states. This management often requires involves reports and fees that are filed annually. The report portals are different and often have anti-bot measures. The agent is used as an assistant to help the user fill and pay their fees acting as a human-in-the-middle. # auto-report

Demo of annual report filing as a new [Fernway](https://fernway.io) feature. Fernway helps owners manage LLC compliance. This demo shows a Delaware corporation's business page and opens an isolated Chromium session for the annual report filing step that is driven by an agent.

## Run the web app

Use Node.js 20.9 or later and npm.

cp .env.example .env.local
npm run dev
```

Set the same random `BOT_SERVICE_SECRET` in `web/.env.local` and `bot/.env` before running both services. Keep `LOCAL_DEMO_MODE=true` for this local demo. Open http://localhost:3000. The root redirects to the seeded UUID entity. Other entity IDs return 404.

## Run the bot

With Docker running, open a second terminal from the repo root:

cp .env.example .env
# Set BOT_SERVICE_SECRET to the same value as web/.env.local.
docker compose up --build
```

The bot listens only on loopback port 3100. Click **File annual report**, then **Start**. When the Plan needs input, choose **Open browser**. Closing the viewer leaves work paused; **Resume** checks the page before continuing. **End session** destroys the browser. **Pay** sends nothing. Both worker and human control stop before payment. The LLC adapter fills the file number, pauses for a human CAPTCHA, enters an explicit amount, and fills US ACH payment details. Ready for payment offers a read-only browser review.
