Description

AstraBrowse is an open-source macOS browser that uses GPT-6 Astra to transform the web into focused, native-feeling experiences. It analyzes each page’s DOM, cuts through ads, cookie banners, pop-ups, and layout clutter, then surfaces the content and interactions that matter. The result is browsing that feels faster, cleaner, and more intentional, less noise, fewer interruptions, and a UI that feels at home on macOS. Licensed under Apache 2.0, AstraBrowse asks a bigger question: what if AI didn’t just live inside the browser, but reinvented it?

## Vision

Astra interprets a page's DOM, extracts its meaningful content and interactions, and presents them through native components. The aim is to remove ads, cookie banners, and visual clutter while preserving what people came to read and do.

The goal is a faster, lighter browsing experience where the client receives structured content instead of entire web page bundles. Content should update automatically as the source changes, eliminating manual refresh while preserving the reader's place.

News articles and feeds are potential first demonstrations of a broader idea: making the web feel as responsive and coherent as a native app.
