When natural disasters strike, like the devastating Kerala floods, centralized communication fails, cell towers go down, and fragmented data leads to delayed rescues and misallocated resources.
Core trick
Event bus fuses IoT sensor and voice distress signals across agents, with on-device Gemma as offline fallback when networks fail.
Description
When natural disasters strike, like the devastating Kerala floods, centralized communication fails, cell towers go down, and fragmented data leads to delayed rescues and misallocated resources.
SentinelOS solves this by providing an AI-native, local-first crisis response platform powered by the Google AI stack.
At its core, SentinelOS features a highly concurrent Multi-Agent System running on Gemini 3.5 Flash. Our agents (Sensor Fusion, Mission Planner, and Incident Commander) subscribe to a custom Event Bus, autonomously correlating multimodal signals—from IoT water levels to voice distress keywords, to detect incidents and deploy volunteers in real-time.
To ensure resilience when the internet completely fails, SentinelOS seamlessly falls back to an offline mesh network powered by local Gemma SLMs running on edge devices.
Finally, we integrated Google Omni Flash to autonomously analyze live drone video streams, instantly flagging structural damage and environmental hazards without requiring human monitors. SentinelOS provides cloud intelligence when you have it, and edge resilience when you don't.
README excerpt
# SentinelOS **SentinelOS** is an **Autonomous Multi-Agent Crisis Operating System**, designed to orchestrate emergency response through a decentralized, highly resilient architecture. Built to operate in severe disaster scenarios where connectivity is unreliable, it seamlessly blends cloud-based AI reasoning with robust, edge-capable execution. Developed for the **Google DeepMind Bangalore Hackathon**, SentinelOS demonstrates genuine multi-agent collaboration, continuous graph-based state tracking, and local-first fallback capabilities. --- ## 🏗 System Architecture SentinelOS breaks away from traditional linear monolithic structures. It embraces a highly decoupled event-driven architecture powered by the Google AI stack: - **Immutable Event Bus**: The nervous system of SentinelOS. Agents never call each other directly; they publish and subscribe to discrete Domain Events (e.g., `IncidentDetected`, `MissionGenerated`, `HumanApproved`). - **World Model**: A continuous, graph-based representation of physical reality. As incidents, responders, and assets interact, the World Model updates dynamically and publishes `WorldModelUpdated` events. - **Managed Agent Framework**: - `SensorFusionAgent`: Fuses multimodal inputs (API data, text, voice SOS) and uses **Gemini 3.5 Flash** to autonomously determine incident severity, type, and confidence. - `MissionPlannerAgent`: Listens for detected incidents and autonomously plans resource allocation and skill requirements. - `In
