Contextualize

Contextualize is a powerful end-to-end context engine powered by Gemini that automatically compiles raw library documentation into modular execution packs for autonomous coding agents.

Core trick

Scans repo dependencies, then compiles per-library documentation cards that coding agents read from a .contextualize folder.

Description

Contextualize is a powerful end-to-end context engine powered by Gemini that automatically compiles raw library documentation into modular execution packs for autonomous coding agents. Built natively as a Vercel skill, it injects these high-precision blueprints directly into tools like Cursor so your agent instantly knows exactly how to build any new feature. The system processes data through a robust multi-stage pipeline that cleanly separates web scraping, local codebase grounding, and strict API validation into focused, bite-sized stages. By replacing bulky text with exact code patterns and strict project boundaries, Contextualize completely prevents AI hallucinations and allows developers to ship flawless applications at lightning speed.

README excerpt

# Contextualize CLI

**Contextualize** is a command-line tool that turns a repository into **AI-ready context**: it walks your project, infers dependencies, compiles focused documentation cards for those libraries, and keeps everything under a single workspace folder (`.contextualize/`) that agents and humans can read.

Use it when you want coding assistants to “know” your stack—frameworks, SDKs, and services—without pasting huge READMEs into every chat.

## What it does

1. **`init`** — Creates the `.contextualize/` layout and prints an in-terminal manual.
2. **`scan`** — Walks the tree (skipping heavy or sensitive paths), concatenates each folder’s files into `.contextualize/scan/concats/`, then uses an LLM to infer dependencies and writes `.contextualize/scan/dependencies.json`.
3. **`fetch docs`** — Reads those concat files to summarize what the codebase is building, then runs the Python **contextualize-docs** compiler to fetch and distill documentation into **context cards** under `.contextualize/docs/` (including `index.json` and `cards/`). On success it also installs/updates the **Cursor skill** at `~/.cursor/skills/using-contextualize/SKILL.md` so agents know how to use this workflow.
4. **`web`** — Serves a small local viewer (default port **4297**) for dependency/context cards—handy after a docs run.
