Description
Nyaya-Agent: A Multimodal Civic Intelligence System for Street Vendor Protection
In Bengaluru, nearly 2.5 lakh street vendors form the backbone of the informal urban economy—selling food, flowers, garments, and essential goods that keep the city alive. Yet many face sudden evictions driven by local administrative circulars that deny vending licenses on roads narrower than 40 feet. These actions often conflict with the protections guaranteed under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, which mandates due process before eviction.
Most vendors lack legal literacy, digital access, or the language fluency required to defend themselves during enforcement drives. Nyaya-Agent is designed to bridge that gap—transforming a smartphone into a real-time constitutional shield.
