Core trick

Three agents write a spec and test suite first, adversarially review it, then implement code only to satisfy those tests.

Description

Antisophistry is a scalable universal tool to end slop. We implement TDD (Test Driven Development) as a CLI/MCP modular tool. Short teaser: https://youtu.be/aApTWkPsdbA see more: https://antisophistry-543328623196.us-west1.run.app/ Code today is written backwards. We write the code first — and only then try to test it. That’s how slop is born. Test-driven development flips this. You write the test first. You define what the code must do before it ever exists. Antisophistry enforces this discipline. Instead of guessing, it asks questions. What exactly is the input? What happens in edge cases? What must never be allowed? Only once the tests are precise does the code get written — and only to satisfy those tests. This is the only reliable way to avoid slop. Not vibes. Not confidence. Proof. Antisophistry automates TDD into a marathon-running process — keeping meaning intact as systems evolve. Write the test first. Then write the code. Anything else is sophistry.

README excerpt

# AntiSophist: Adversarial TDD Framework

AntiSophist is an agentic coding framework where three philosophical AI agents debate to forge robust, bug-free code.

- **Socrates**: Formalizes requirements into a rigorous specification.
- **Archimedes**: Synthesizes a comprehensive test suite (TDD).
- **Diogenes**: Adversarially reviews specs and tests to find edge cases.
- **Hephaestus**: Implements the code that passes the tests.

## Features
- **Adversarial Logic**: Code is not written until the tests are proven robust.
- **Visual Debate**: Watch the agents argue in the VS Code extension.
- **CLI Mode**: Generate code directly from your terminal.

## Installation

1.  **Backend**:
    ```bash
    python3 -m venv venv
    source venv/bin/activate
    pip install -r server/requirements.txt
    ```

2.  **VS Code Extension**:
    ```bash
    cd extension
    npm install
    npm run compile
    ```
    Open the directory in VS Code and press F5.

## Usage

### VS Code Extension
Open the "AntiSophist" view in the Activity Bar. Type your prompt (e.g., "Create a function to parse ISO dates") and watch the debate.

### CLI Tool
You can also use the CLI to generate code without the UI:

```bash
# Make sure the server is running first
python server/api.py
# In another terminal
python atdd_cli.py "Create a python function to validate email addresses" -v
```

The generated code will be printed to stdout.

## Development
- **Server**: FastAPI + WebSockets
- **Agents**: Google Gemini Models
